Through analysis of movement, form, function, solid and void space. The Lee Lowry Courtyard Cartrail system was formed. The idea behind this design was to incorporate the movement of a water bottle and the shape of the void space around the bottle. The viewing carts allow for students to experience the courtyard in a new and refreshing way by creating new spaces above and below the courtyard. Each individual cart can be manipulated and configured to any order. The configuration of the carts allow for different spaces inside the carts from being inside the trees by the road to in the sunlight over the courtyard. The carts reinvent the space below through shadow and shelter through user configuration.
